The preparations for local production of sun block in Mali are progressing slowly but surely. One of the volunteers who went to Mali at the end of November to start up this project for the Stichting Afrikaanse Albinos has reported: ‘The first three litres have been made’ The cooperation with the Albino Association SIAM (Solidarité pour l'insertion des Albinos du Mali) is going well, the ingredients which were ordered in the Netherlands have arrived, the lab is fitted out and several albinos have been found who are willing to learn and help with the production process.
Everything seems to be ready for a good start. The First three litres were made with the aid of a hand mixer. One pot will be sent to be tested in Mali and one to be tested in the Netherlands. Besides this two albinos will test their own product personally. As well as production SIAM , the foundation and other institutions too will be giving information about the cream and the relatively simple development process. Various talks are already being held and in the future we hope to be able to deploy more institutions in this work.
