The committee: chairman Marjolein Geurts, secretary Emma Blok and treasurer Judith Hanemaaijer)

marjoleingeurtsMarjolein Geurts - Chairman
Marjolein is a physician and researcher in neurologie at the University Hospital Utrecht. During her internship she came into contact with Nienke Sonneveld, the founder of Stichting Afrikaanse Albino’s. When it transpired that Marjolein was also going to visit Africa there was an extra click between them. They got talking about the work that the foundation does and in 2007 Marjolein took up an active role as Secretary to the foundation. In 2011 had been chairman for six years and was ready to pass het gavel on to Marjolein.

Judith Hanemaaijer - Treasurer
Since the end of Judith has been the stichting's treasurer. She has studied medicine in Utrecht. During her studies she visited South Africa and Mozambique and this was the beginning of her bond with Africa. Judith and Marjolein studied medicine together and that was how Judith met up with the foundation. She has no ambitions to wear a white coat and treat patients in a clinic. She sees her work as being more in the area op policy making and then preferably with the numbers concerned. Being the treasurer of this foundation will provide intersting experience for her.

Emma Blok - Secretary
Emma is a sixth year medical student at the Universiteit in Utrecht. Her affinity with other cultures is expressed in the many journeys she has made and the internships that she has carried out abroad. In connection with her studies she has travelled to Asia and Middle-America. Africa is tops her list as the next destination. Emma is true multi-tasker who loves being busy with a lot of things at the same time. Her talent for organisation is really useful then! Emma is the committee's new secretary and is looking forward to working for the albinos in Africa.
